After writing screenplays for over a decade, I kept wishing for software that just worked — something modern, accessible, and built specifically for how screenwriters actually write.

But as I thought about this problem, I realized something bigger was happening. Our industry is going through a sea-change. Filmmaking has become accessible to anyone with a cellphone and an internet connection. Networks no longer have a monopoly on audience eyeballs. In this new democratizing spirit, I wanted any solution I built to be free, not a severely limited free version, but the whole program completely free.

So my co-founder/brother Chase and I decided to build exactly that.
